The Swedish Radiation Safety Authority has issued new regulations to replace regulations issued by its predecessors, the Swedish Nuclear Power Inspectorate (i.e. SKIFS) and the Swedish Radiation Protection Authority (i.e. SSI FS).
The content of the regulations SSMFS 2008:3 to SSMFS 2008:53 is worded identically to the content of the respective SKIFS and SSI FS regulations, with the exception of the names of the former authorities above having been changed to 'the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority'. New items have been added to three of the regulations:
- SSMFS 2008:1 (formerly SKIFS 2004:1) has been amended
- SSMFS 2008:2: a new regulation concerning exemptions from the Nuclear Activities Act
- SSMFS 2008:14 (formerly SSI FS 2005:4): a new laser regulation
A few of the SSMFS regulations are currently available as translations to English.
